About Creative Build
To provide communities with the resources they need to thrive in the 21st century, Creative Build’s mission is to utilize the most up to date evidence of what works in the fields of prevention science, education, and human development, to improve the lives of individuals, families, and communities.  We seek to foster creativity, innovation, and resilience though collective impact, community engagement, workforce development, education, and advocacy.  Through collaborative cross sector agreements, Creative Build works to deepen social and technical supports for positive change.

About Creative Build Youth Reinvestment Grant
“To divert youth who are at risk of system involvement away from the juvenile justice system with evidence-based, trauma-informed, culturally relevant, and developmentally appropriate options. While the primary goal is to avoid initial contact with law enforcement, we also want to avert further involvement for those who have already had contact. Diversion programs will include education, academic/vocational services; mentoring; mental health services; and/or behavioral health services and can be new or existing activities/programs: e.g., pre-arrest diversion, community-based referral programs, restorative justice. Projects should engage community-based organizations early in the process to assess what needs can be met with the service providers already available in the community.  For year one of this grant, our capacity will be to work with 30 mentees and 10 mentors.

Internship / Summer Program
The average duration of the supported internship will be10 weeks (aligning with the semester system) 4 times a year. Youth receive financial incentives (a $1,500 stipend) for their 10 week internship work and have access to their mentors and Creative Build workshops throughout the year.
