Creative Build Youth Reinvestment Grant
“To divert youth who are at risk of system involvement away from the juvenile justice system with evidence-based, trauma-informed, culturally relevant, and developmentally appropriate options. While the primary goal is to avoid initial contact with law enforcement, we also want to avert further involvement for those who have already had contact. Diversion programs will include education, academic/vocational services; mentoring; mental health services; and/or behavioral health services and can be new or existing activities/programs: e.g., pre-arrest diversion, community-based referral programs, restorative justice. Projects should engage community-based organizations early in the process to assess what needs can be met with the service providers already available in the community.
